Looking for originality? This aromatic red is for you! Made from the malbec variety – known as ‘côt’ in the Loire Valley, and ‘auxerrois’ around Cahors- this wine reveals aromas of small red berries such as raspberries and redcurrants. Grown on basaltic soil, this concentrated wine, with a firm structure and a beautiful tannic base, will be the perfect accompaniment to grilled red meat or duck en cocotte. Although it can be drunk right away, as a young wine, you might also want to let it age a bit. This intense red was developed from indigenous yeasts and underwent a two-week semi-carbonic maceration. Let yourself be tempted by this malbec (so popular a variety in Argentina, too) which grew on the first volcanic slopes of Massif Central, in the heart of the Loire département – and enjoy!
