Our guest house is a former magnanerie (silkfarm) built in the local stone, whose oldest section dates back to the 17th century.
The Hameau de la Savouillane has been operated by a group of friends, with Christophe at the helm, since February 15, 2021. Nicolas Bach is in charge of the management. This exceptional venue comprises a guest house, a holiday studio flat, a swimming pool, a patio where events such as concerts, shows, exhibitions or family reunions can be held, and a wine-tasting cellar offering a selection of organic and biodynamic wines as well as spirits from virtually all over the world; it is also the headquarters of l’Oxalide, a bilingual (French/English) publishing house.
About the wine shop
Christophe Poiré has been travelling the vineyards of France and elsewhere for thirty years. He received his certificate in oenology from the Institut Universitaire de la Vigne et du Vin de Dijon (Dijon Vine and Wine Academic Institute) in 2003, and was awarded the WSET (Wine & Spirit Education Trust) level 2 in spirits and the WSET level 3 in wine in 2020. He dispenses classes in oenology and wine tasting at Buis-les-Baronnies, Lyon, and the University of Lorraine.
All the wines on offer at the cellar are organic and biodynamic and were selected by Christophe directly on the estates where they were produced. The wine selection is completed by a wide range of spirits. Christophe’s approach to wine tasting is based on a thorough knowledge of terroirs (the areas and soils where the grapes grow).
